  • Hatchery Chinook, steelhead season extended for two weeks

    WALLULA — The state Department of Fish and Wildlife has extended the steelhead and hatchery Chinook salmon season through July 31. The two-week season extension is on the mainstem Columbia River from Rocky Point upstream to the U.S. Highway 395 bridge at Pasco. The daily catch limit is six, and up to two hatchery adults may be retained, of which only one may be a steelhead.     PASCO — A local woman arrested for driving while under the influence bit a police officer Tuesday, July 14. Ann Bechtol, 34, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. for her alleged drunken driving, records show. She was also cited for failure to stop when police attempted to pull her over.     PASCO — The city began handing out coronavirus reopening packs today, Wednesday, July 15, to businesses at the Pasco Farmers Market.
