  • Crashes increase, DUIs decline during Columbia Cup weekend

    PASCO — The Washington State Patrol says the number of crashes has increased by drunken driving is down at the Columbia Cup. Trooper Chris Thorson said the four-day weekend brought 32 crashes this year in Benton and Franklin Counties. Eight people were arrested drunken driving. That compares to 20 crashes and 16 driving while under the influence arrests in 2019, he said. Since the Columbia Cup was canceled in 2020, crash and DUI arrest numbers were included in the comparison....
