Job fairs set for Othello, Ritzville high schools

Lind-Ritzville event set for Oct. 19

OTHELLO —The Adams County Development Council is planning two career days for students.

The Career Showcase is set for Oct. 19 at Lind-Ritzville High School in Ritzville and Oct. 24 at Othello High School in Othello, according to the Adams County Development Council .

Local businesses are sought for each.

Businesses interested in participating will be set up both inside and outside schools, with spaces available sized 10 by 10 feet, 10 by 20 feet and 10 by 30 feet. There isn’t a cost to participate.

Participating students will receive “passports” to get stamped by each business representatives after discussing the business and opportunities for employment.

In Ritzville, businesses may set up from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and from 6:30-7:30 a.m. Oct 19. The event opens at 7:45 a.m.

In Othello, businesses may set up from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and from 7-8 a.m. Oct. 24.

At Lind-Ritzville High School, freshmen will participate in the jbo fair from 8:30-9:40 a.m., followed by seniors from 9:45-10:55 a.m. Sophomores are participating from 11 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. and Juniors will participate from 12:50 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Businesses will get a lunch break from 12:10-12:50 p.m. Booths close at 2 p.m.; businesses can leave after that.

At Othello High School, eighth-graders will participate from 8-8:55 a.m. and freshmen from 9:05-10 a.m.

Sophomores will participate form 10:10-11:05 a.m. and seniors from 12:15-1:20 p.m.

Juniors are schedule for 1:30-2:25 p.m.

Businesses will get a break from 11:05 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The event ends at 2:25 p.m. and businesses will be able to tear down and leave thereafter.
