Connell primary election ballots mailed

Voter pamphlets sent to residents, as well

CONNELL — Ballots for the Aug. 1 primary election were mailed July 11 to registered voters in the city.

Franklin County Auditor Matt Beaton said registered voters should already be receiving them, as well as a voter pamphlet the Franklin County Elections Department created to help voters learn about candidates.

City residents not currently registered to vote still have an opportunity to participate in the election, Beaton said.

City residents can register online at http://www.votewa.gov or by mail until Monday, July 24; or in person until Tuesday, Aug. 1 at the Franklin County Auditor’s Office, 1016 N. Fourth Ave., Pasco, he said.

For those registering in person, the office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. On election day, residents can register in person from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To be valid, ballots must be returned on or before Aug. 1. Those being mailed, must be postmarked by Aug. 1.

The Top 2 candidates in each race will advance to the Nov. 7 general election; ballots for that election are slated to be mailed before Oct. 20.
