Washtucna teen injured

WASHTUCNA – A local teenager was injured Saturday evening, May 13, after crashing her pickup on state Highway 261.

Mia A. Rouleau, 18, of Washtucna was transported to a Spokane hospital for treatment of her injuries, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Rouleau was northbound on the highway at 5:39 p.m. when she attempted to change lanes and lost control of her 1995 For Ranger pickup, the patrol said.

She overcorrected, crossed the centerline and drove into the southbound ditch, where the truck overturned and came to rest, the patrol said.

The cause of the crash was improper lane change, the patrol reported, noting there were not any drugs or alcohol involved in the crash.

Rouleau was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the patrol reported.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Rogers Towing of Ritzville.
