OTHELLO – A three vehicle crash landed four Othello residents in the hospital Sunday afternoon, March 6.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Myra L. Walter, 74; Evangelina Suarez, 35; and two juveniles were transported to an area hospital following the 5:46 p.m. crash on state Highway 17.

Although they are public records, the Washington State Patrol failed to provide the names of the juveniles involved in the crash. One was a passenger in Suarez’s vehicle; the other was the 16-year-old driver of the third car.

Walter, Suarez and the 16-year-old driver were all southbound at the time of the crash, the patrol reported.

Suarez slowed her 2016 Jeep Wrangler to turn left onto Herman Road and was struck from behind by the 2014 Subaru driven by Walter, the patrol reported.

The 2022 Toyota Corolla driven by the teenager then struck Suarez’s vehicle, the patrol reported.

Walter’s vehicle came to rest on the shoulder, Suarez’s blocking the northbound lane and the teen’s vehicle off the southbound shoulder against an embankment.
