Connell woman uninjured in crash

BURBANK — A Connell woman was not hurt in a head-on collision Monday, Dec. 20, on U.S. Highway 12 about 7 miles south of the city.

Rebecca S. Jones, 55, of Connell, was westbound on the highway in a 2021 Freightliner towing a 2000 KW construction trailer when a vehicle crossed the centerline and struck her truck near Milepost 307 at about 6:37 p.m., the Washington State Patrol reported.

The vehicle that crossed the centerline was a 2000 Toyota Tundra, driven by Kris E. Picard, 67, of Hermiston, Ore., the patrol said. Picard was transported to a Pasco hospital for treatment of crash-related injuries.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash, the patrol reported, citing the cause as crossing the centerline.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, the patrol said.
