Heat, air quality advisories issued

PASCO - Another heat advisory has been issued for Franklin County.

The new advisory runs from 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, to 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature in Pasco is expected to hit about 103 on Tuesday and 101 on Wednesday, before cooling off to 93 degrees Thursday.

The temperature will continue to decline to about 85 on Friday and 81 on Saturday.

In addition to the heat advisory, residents can expect smoky conditions.

As a result, the state Department of Ecology has issued an air quality alert through noon Thursday.

Smoke from fires burning in the Okanogan is funneling down the Columbia River valley, making air quality levels unhealthy in Frankly County, the air quality alert said.
