Richland woman injured in Pasco crash she allegedly caused

PASCO — A Richland woman was taken to a Kennewick hospital after allegedly causing a crash on U.S. Highway 395 at the Lewis Street exit.

Rebecca Acevedo, 39, was southbound in a 2005 Chrysler 300 when traffic slowed in front of her at about 4:43 p.m. Thursday, June 17, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Acevedo failed to slow and rear-ended a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Jamie D. Sampson, 42, of Montpelier, Idaho, the patrol said.

Both women were wearing seatbelts and neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor, the patrol said.

Acevedo sustained undisclosed injuries and was transported to a local hospital, the patrol said. Sampson was not injured.

Acevedo was cited for following too close, the patrol said.
