Kennewick teen injured in DUI-related crash

PASCO — A Kennewick teenager is facing a DUI charge following a 4:27 a.m. crash Saturday, June 5, along Interstate 182 near the Road 68 interchange.

Joe E. Vargas, 18, was taken to a hospital for treatment of crash-related injuries, the patrol said.

Vargas was eastbound on the interstate when he crossed into the westbound lanes, lost control and flipped his 2003 Honda Accord, the patrol said. The vehicle came to rest on the Road 68 westbound onramp.

The patrol said alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
