Connell Police release activity report

Officers had 257 calls for service in January

CONNELL – The Police Department has released its activity report for the month of January.

Overall, officers responded to 257 calls for service and issued 79 citations, records show.

Among the citations were five criminal infractions – four for driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs and one for an ignition interlock violation.

Other traffic citations include two for motorists without insurance, four speeding, second-degree negligent driving, failure to yield, failure to display registration and no valid operating license.

Officers responding to calls for service unlocked four vehicles, checked an unsecure building, conducted eight extra patrol and five school visits and searched for one missing person, records show.

In other calls, police had 13 animal complaints, a 911 hang-up, one reported malicious mischief, six civil calls, 13 parking issues, two juvenile complaints, a warrant service and five disturbances, records show.

Officers also assisted other agencies on 17 calls, conducted 13 welfare checks and assisted 12 motorists, records show.

Other calls included one motor vehicle theft, two disabled vehicles, three lost/found property, four contacts, one domestic call, one alarm, two trespassing cases, three noise complaints two trespasses and 10 suspicious incidents.

Outside of general law enforcement duties, police participated in City Council meetings, were treated to Law Enforcement Appreciation Day at Connell Elementary School and participated in emergency management discussions, among other items.
