CONNELL — A local man was cited for second-degree negligent driving for his involvement in a 3:39 p.m. crash Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Eleazar R. Silva Silva was eastbound in a 2000 Honda Accord on state Highway 260 a mile west of the city when he crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle head-on, the Washington State Patrol said.

Silva injured and taken to a Richland hospital, the patrol said.

The westbound 1978 Interational truck was driven by Carlos A. Cera, 26, of Royal City, the patrol said. Neither he nor his passenger, Santiago A. Marroquin, 30, of Othello, were injured.

The patrol said alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.

Silva's Honda was towed from the scene by Mesa Crossroads Towing. Mels Towing removed the International truck.
