Pasco man injured in DUI-related crash, patrol says

TOUCHET — A Pasco man was hospitalized late Tuesday, Sept. 1, following a drunken driving-related crash.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Ryan L. Wertz, 36, was transported to a Walla Walla hospital following the 11:37 p.m. crash on U.S. Highway 12.

Wertz was westbound on the highway near Milepost 319 when his 2008 GMC Sierra pickup left the roadway and struck a guardrail, the patrol reported.

The cause of the crash is driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, the patrol reported, noting Wertz is facing a DUI charge.

Wertz was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the patrol reported.

His vehicle was removed from the crash scene by Kyle’s Towing.
