PASCO — Police are looking for help in locating a "chop shop" near the Court Street intersection with 20th Street.

According to a report, a 1995 Honda Civic stolen from the Albertson's parking lot last Friday, July 31, turned up Monday, Aug. 3, stripped of its engine, wheels, interrior and more in the 2300 block of Ruby Street, about four blocks from where it was taken.

The owner had parked the car in the parking lot Monday, July 27, and had removed the battery and installed a steering wheel lock, the report said. The vehicle was taken sometime between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. Friday, July 31.

Police said there were tire-drag marks in the parking lot, indicating it had likely been winched onto a trailer, police said.

Anyone with information on the theft, stripping or the abandonment of the car is asked to email officer Dave Herrera at [email protected], reference case No. 20-22038 Veh Theft.
