WALLULA – State Highway 730 drivers can expect minor delays this week due to road construction.
The state Department of Transportation and contractor crews will be installing a new virtual weigh-in motion system just west of the U.S. Highway 12 and state Highway 730 junction.
One lane of Highway 730 will be closed Tuesday through Thursday, July 20-23.
The new system will allow the Washington State Patrol to check truck weights as well as about 50 other regulatory and safety items from anywhere, officiasl said, noting it will also reduce staffing costs.
