Special election ballots in the mail

Ballots must be returned by Feb. 14 for votes to count

PASCO — The Feb. 14 special election is under way.

The Franklin County Auditor's Office mailed ballots to eligible voters Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Anyone who is not currently registered to vote in Washington State can still register in person until Tuesday, Feb. 14,at the Franklin County Auditor’s Office, 1016 N. Fourth Ave., Franklin County Auditor Matt Beaton said. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Beaton recommends that voters drop off their ballots in a ballot drop box to assure they are received on time.

For voters who prefer mailing their ballots, the U.S. Postal Service is recommends voters mail ballots one week before Election Day to account for any unforeseen events or weather issues and to allow for timely receipt.
