Othello man facing DUI charge in Mesa crash

MESA – An Othello man was booked into the Franklin County Jail on Sunday, July 17, for a driving while under the influence charge after crashing his pickup.

Narciso A. Gomez Sanchez, 53, of Othello, was booked into the Franklin County Jail, where he remained Monday morning pending a court appearance.

He was booked Sunday after his 3:51 p.m. crash on state Highway 17, about 10 miles north of Mesa.

Gomez Sanchez was southbound on the highway when his 1994 Ford Ranger pickup left the roadway near Milepost 20, the patrol reported. The pickup overturned.

Although he was wearing a seatbelt, the patrol said Gomez Sanchez was injured. As a result, he was transported to a Richland hospital for treatment.

After being released from the hospital, he was booked into the jail.

The patrol reported that alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash.

The pickup was towed from the scene by Mesa Crossroads Towing, the patrol reported.
