No crossbows for senior hunters

OLYMPIA — Elderly archery hunters won't be able to use a crossbow, at least not this year.

Last week, the state Fish and Wildlife Commission rejected a petition to allow hunters ages 65 and older to use a crossbow during deer and elk archery seasons.

Commissioners may take up the issue again next spring during its next season-setting process.
