Cayuse Pass to open

MOUNT RAINIER – State Highway 123/Cayuse Pass is scheduled to reopen by 8 a.m. Friday, May 27, in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Meanwhile, winter weather with continued snowfall and high avalanche danger will keep state Highway 410/Chinook Pass closed for a few more weeks.

State Department of Transportation crews will continue to clear the roadway and conduct avalanche control as weather allows.

On May 27, the section of Highway 410 from Crystal Mountain Boulevard to the junction of state Highway 123 will be open, along with all of Highway 123.

Motorists are prohibited from traveling east on state Highway 410 past the junction to Chinook Pass.
