MESA — A Kennewick man was injured when his vehicle crashed into a guardrail and overturned Monday on state Highway 17 about 2 miles north of the city.

Carlos H. Silva Morales, 40, was taken to a Pasco hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in the 12:14 p.m. crash, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Morales was southbound in a 1999 International truck when he lost control, hit a guardrail and overturned near Milepost 9, the patrol reported. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The patrol said neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor.

Morales was cited for speed too fast for conditions.
