STARBUCK — A Waitsburg girl was injured on Little Goose Dam Road when she crashed about 8:21 p.m. Thursday, June 17.

Aubriahna L. Araya, 16, was transported to a hospital in Dayton for crash-related injuries, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Araya was northbound approaching state Highway 261 when she failed to negotiate a curve, lost control of her 2013 Honda Civic and crashed into a ditch, the patrol said.

The cause of the crash was excessive speed, the patrol said.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were factors, the patrol said. She was wearing a seatbelt.

Araya was cited for failure to maintain lane, the patrol reported.
