Candidate filing begins Monday

Filing closes Friday, May 21

PASCO — Candidate filings for this year's election cycle begins Monday, May 17, and runs through Friday, May 21.

According to the Franklin County Auditor's Office, there are several positions that will be on the ballot.

They include Franklin County Assessor as well as seats on the Connell City Council, Port of Kahlotus, Kahlotus City Council, Port of Pasco, Mesa City Council, Kahlotus School Board, Pasco City Council, North Franklin School Board, fire protections districts, Pasco School Board, cemetery districts, School School Board, the hospital district, Washtucna School Board, the Basin City Water-Sewer District and the Othello School District.

The seats on the Washtucna and Othello school boards represent areas in Adams County, as well as Franklin County.

In-person filing is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; online filing begins at 9 a.m. Monday and closes at 4 p.m. Friday.

Candidates filing for open offices will appear on the Aug. 3 primary election ballot.

The top two candidates in each race advance to the Nov. 2 general election.
