Othello woman injured in Pasco crash

PASCO — An Othello woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash about 2:25 p.m. Friday, May 14.

Maria I. Chavez Ruelas, 51, was taken to a local hospital following a crash on U.S. Highway 395 at the Vineyard Road intersection.

Anne E. MacLeod, 19, of Edina, Minn., was westbound on Vineyard and attempting to turn southbound onto the highway in her 2015 Subaru Forrester when she failed to yield the right-of-way, the Washington State Patrol reported. The northbound Ruelas struck MacLeod.

Ruelas was driving a 1998 Honda Civic, the patrol reported.

Both women were wearing seatbelts, the patrol reported. Neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor in the crash.

MacLeod was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
