Connell teenager injured in crash on U.S. Highway 395

ELTOPIA — A Connell boy was transported to a local hospital after crashing an SUV on U.S. Highway 395 on Sunday evening.

Paul W. Smith, 17, of Connell, was driving north, about 8 miles north of Pasco, when his grey 1999 Chevrolet Blazer left the road and rolled sideways at 6:36 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash is attributed to his speed being too fast for winter road conditions, the patrol said.

He was taken to Lourdes Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
