Teenager injured in crash near Connell

CONNELL — A Pasco teenager was hospitalized early this morning after his vehicle overturned near Milepost 51 of U.S. Highway 395.

Roy J. Diaz, 17, was transported to an area hospital following the 7:13 a.m. crash today, Jan. 5. His condition was not immediately available.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Diaz was northbound on the highway when he lost control of his 1996 Nissan pickup.

The truck overturned and came t to rest in the median, the patrol said. Neither drugs nor alcohol were factors.

Diaz was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the patrol said, noting he was cited for improper lane change.

Mesa Crossroads Towing removed the wrecked vehicle from the crash site, the patrol said.
