Sheriff's vehicle damaged in crash

BASIN CITY — A Moses Lake woman is facing charges after allegedly crashing into an unoccupied Franklin County Sheriff's Office SUV at about 6:21 p.m. Christmas day.

Jourdan K. Sweet, 31, was cited with second-degree negligent driving in the three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ringold and Glenwood roads, the Washington State Patrol reported, noting Sweet was also injured and taken to a Pasco hospital.

Speed too fast for conditions was a factor in the crash, the patrol said.

According to the patrol, Sweet was northbound on Ringold Road, approaching Glenwood, the patrol said. A second vehicle was stopped at the intersection and a patrol car was parked there to close Glenwood Road due to weather conditions.

Sweet lost control of her 2018 Chevrolet Malibu and struck a 2012 Dodge Durango druven by Fay A. Siegfried, 67, of Mesa, and then the 2017 Ford Explorer patrol vehicle, the patrol said.

Siegfried was not injured and the patrol vehicle was empty at the time of the crash, the patrol said.

All three vehicles were driven from the crash scene.
