Idaho man facing charges in Cable Bridge crash

Kennewick woman, Pasco man injured in incident

KENNEWICK— An Idaho man is facing charges in a crash that sent two others to an area hospital late Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Thomas W. Pendergrass, 37, of Mountain Home, Idaho, is facing charges of driving while under the influence and second-degree reckless driving, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Pendergrass was southbound on the Cable Bridge (state Highway 397) at about 9:30 p.m. when his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado struck a southbound 1998 Ford Escort driven by Sherri L. Gibbons, 47, of Kennewick, the patrol said.

Gibbons and her passenger, Ricardo A. Lopez, 49, of Pasco, suffered injuries in the impact and were transported to an area hospital, the patrol said.

The crash blocked southbound traffic lanes on the bridge between Pasco and Kennewick.

Pasco Towing removed the vehicles from the crash scene.
