ELTOPIA – A Kennewick man was hospitalized Wednesday following a crash at the intersection of Eltopia West Road and U.S. Highway 395.
LaJarvis R. McWhorter, 24, was taken to a hospital after the 8:48 a.m. crash, the Washington State Patrol reported.
McWhorter was westbound on Eltopia West Road in his 1998 Dodge Dakota when he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign, the patrol reported. His vehicle was struck broadside by a northbound 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe.
The driver of the Tahoe, Juan M. Mendoza-Tovar, 25, of Cashmere, was not injured, the patrol reported.
Mendoza-Tovar was wearing a seatbelt, McWhorter wasn’t, the patrol reported.
The patrol cited McWhorter for failure to yield the right-of-way; neither drugs nor alcohol were factors.
Both vehicles were removed from the scene by AE Towing of Pasco.
