Pasco driver uninjured in three-vehicle crash

SUNNYSIDE – A Pasco man involved in a three-vehicle crash this morning was not injured.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred at 3:27 a.m. near Milepost 63 of Interstate 82.

Benjamin J. Arteaga, 33, of Pasco, was westbound on the interstate and slowed his 2012 GMC Savanna due to fog, the patrol reported. When he slowed, Victor Soto, 26, of Yakima rearended Lynette C. Hopwood, 68, of Prosser, who then rear-ended Arteaga.

Soto’s 2004 Toyota Camry overturned, the patrol reported, noting the driver had to be transported to a local hospital.

Hopwood, who was in 2017 Toyota Camry, was not injured.

Kay’sTowing removed the two Toyotas from the crash scene, the patrol reported, Arteaga was able to drive away.

All three drivers were wearing seatbelts, the patrol said, noting the cause of the crash was following too close.
