Pasco girl injured in crash

KENNEWICK — A Pasco girl was injured in a three-vehicle crash Saturday evening, Aug. 15, at the base of the Blue Bridge.

According to the Washington State Patrol, 17-year-old Monica Huerta Santana was transported to a Kennewick hospital after the vehicle in which she was a passenger was involved in a crash.

The 5:30 p.m. crash occurred near Milepost 18 of U.S. Highway 395, in the northbound curves at the base of the bridge connecting Kennewick to Pasco.

Santana was a passenger in a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban being driven by Antonio F. Medina, 17, of Kennewick, the patrol said.

Medina attempted a lane change and struck a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, being driven by David N. Navarrete Cortez, 34, of West Richland, the patrol reported. The Tahoe then struck a 2014 Toyota Camry, driven by Lizbeth Magana, 18, of Toppenish.

Medina was cited for following too close, the patrol said.
