Pasco woman undergoes arm amputation

Skin graft on tap for Wednesday

PASCO - A local woman who had an arm amputated following an ATV crash over the weekend in McCall, Idaho, will undergo a skin graft on Wednesday morning.

Mirza Michel is "struggling to keep her pain under control," friend Tierney Becho said today, Tuesday, July 28. A time for the graft has yet to be announced.

Becho has started a GoFundMe.com account for the Michel family to help with costs related to medical care.

As of this afternoon, the fund had received $27,519 from 264 donors, with a fundraising goal of $30,000. The account is online at https://gf.me/u/yiqmsp.

"She (Mirza) is so positive and is so thankful for the outpouring of love and support from not only friends and family, but from her co-workers ... as well as the entire Tri-Cities community."

Michel, an ultrasound technician, was on vacation with her husband, Alex, and two children, Sophia and Liam, when the ATV she was riding rolled onto her arm, Becho said on the GoFundMe page. Her crushed arm had to be amputated.

Becho said she started the fundraiser to assist the family with "food, lodging as well as the huge amount of medical bills that will be coming up."
